The Renaissance Sanctuary has come transatlantic from the United Kingdom, pushing new boundaries with its research and approach to personal mental health support, advocacy and agency. Initially set up to combat addiction, it promotes a far more personal and intimate approach to harnessing inner demons. If you could imagine taking a week off to stay with an old friend, The Sanctuary provides this abundance organically. It is designed to feel like you are getting away to stay at an old friend’s house in a time of need. Finally, someone you trust to provide clarity, understanding, and the transformation you have been longing for that, sadly, short active breaks cannot buy.
THE FIRST OF ITS KIND
The story of the Renaissance Sanctuary is as enchanting as the retreats themselves. The first Sanctuary was housed in a breathtaking 300-year-old barn conversion in the quaint Yorkshire village of Shadwell, nestled in the heart of Northern England. Though it lacked expansive grounds and personal green space, the backdrop of rolling hills and timeless charm provided an unforgettable setting for reflection and renewal.
Today, the Renaissance Sanctuary has found its home just 30 minutes from Philadelphia Airport. We were incredibly fortunate to acquire a stunning piece of American history—a 300-year-old house accompanied by two charming cottages, all resting on our three acres of cultivated(working) serenity and surrounded by 33 acres of protected woodland. With its rich heritage and natural beauty, this property offers a unique experience steeped in history and harmony.
Following an extensive redevelopment with investments nearing $500,000, the sanctuary has been thoughtfully reimagined to blend historic elegance with modern comfort. Every corner of the property reflects our unwavering commitment to creating an unparalleled retreat experience. This transformation ensures that the Renaissance Sanctuary will remain a haven for self-discovery and healing for decades to come.
